EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation while recalling difficult memories, helping the brain reprocess them in a healthier way. Many clients find that painful memories become less emotionally overwhelming over time.
EMDR is commonly used for:
* PTSD
* Childhood trauma
* Anxiety
* Panic attacks
* Medical trauma
* Grief
* Phobias
* Distressing life experiences
If you're unsure whether EMDR is right for you, we can discuss your goals during your initial consultation.
Trauma counselling provides a safe, supportive space to help you heal from overwhelming or distressing life experiences.
Trauma affects everyone differently and can result from a single event or ongoing experiences such as childhood neglect, abuse, accidents, violence, or significant loss.
Together, we'll work to:
* Understand the impact of trauma
* Reduce distressing symptoms
* Develop healthy coping strategies
* Improve emotional regulation
* Restore a sense of safety and confidence
* Support long-term healing
Sessions move at your pace, and you are never pressured to discuss anything before you're ready.
